Keion White’s parents are James White and Shareese Williams. His father spoke publicly about the family’s pride in Keion during the 2023 NFL Draft, while the New England Patriots’ official website reported that his mother, Shareese Williams, played college basketball at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina. An official NFL draft guide lists Keion as having one brother and one sister, although detailed public information about his siblings is limited.
Keion White has built his professional football career through college competition, positional changes and a determined path to the National Football League (NFL). As his profile has grown, interest has also turned toward his family, particularly his parents, James White and Shareese Williams, and the siblings who share his family background.
White was born on January 20, 1999, and grew up in Garner, North Carolina. His football journey began well before he became a professional player. Family members, grandparents, friends and former coaches supported him through his early years in the sport, and that support was visible when relatives gathered to watch his name come up during the 2023 NFL Draft.
A report published by ABC11 on April 28, 2023, covered a draft-watch gathering in Clayton, North Carolina. James White spoke to the station about the excitement of seeing his son’s career reach a major milestone. Meanwhile, the New England Patriots’ official website identified Keion’s mother as Shareese Williams and noted her college basketball background.
Although some personal details about the family are available, not every aspect of Keion White’s private life has been publicly documented. The most reliable approach is to distinguish between information confirmed by established sources and details that remain uncertain.
What Happened? Why Are Fans Interested in Keion White’s Family?
Interest in Keion White’s parents has grown alongside his progress from a North Carolina high school athlete to a professional defensive lineman.
White played college football at Old Dominion University before transferring to Georgia Tech. He was selected by the New England Patriots in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, with the 46th overall pick. He later joined the San Francisco 49ers, where his official player profile lists him as a defensive lineman wearing No. 56.
His football career has attracted attention, but his family story provides additional context. Coverage of his draft experience showed that relatives gathered to celebrate the moment in North Carolina while White attended the draft in Kansas City.
That gathering was more than a celebration of a single selection. It reflected years of involvement in his development, including the time family members and coaches spent supporting him as a young athlete.

Who Is Keion White’s Father, James White?
Keion White’s father is James White, who spoke publicly about his son’s NFL Draft experience in 2023.
In its April 28, 2023, report, ABC11 described how friends, family members and former coaches gathered in Clayton, North Carolina, to follow the draft. James was among those celebrating Keion’s progress.
James told the station that the experience was exciting and sometimes overwhelming. He also emphasized his desire to continue celebrating his son’s journey with family and friends.
His comments offered a glimpse into the family’s perspective at a pivotal point in Keion’s life. Reaching the NFL is a major achievement for any football player, and the draft represents the culmination of years of practices, competition, training and career decisions.
James’s public remarks did not provide an extensive account of his own personal or professional background. Consequently, details such as his occupation, age and broader biography should not be stated as facts without additional reliable evidence.
James White’s support during the NFL Draft
The ABC11 report placed Keion’s draft-watch gathering in a Clayton neighborhood where his grandparents lived. Around 50 people reportedly came together to watch the event.
The gathering included family members and people who had followed Keion’s football development over many years. His father’s comments made clear that the family viewed the draft as part of a longer journey, rather than an isolated achievement.
Keion was not selected during the first round on Thursday, April 27, 2023. He was picked the following day, when the Patriots selected him with the 46th overall choice.
The episode is a useful example of how professional athletes often reach major career milestones with support from people outside the spotlight. While fans see the player on the field, family members may have followed the process from youth sports through high school and college.
Who Is Keion White’s Mother, Shareese Williams?
Keion White’s mother is Shareese Williams. Her name appears in a May 15, 2023, feature published by the New England Patriots.
The team’s article included biographical details about White alongside analysis of his football ability and personality. It reported that his mother played college basketball at Saint Augustine’s University in Raleigh, North Carolina, from 1994 to 1998.
That detail provides a notable connection between Keion’s athletic background and his family. Shareese’s experience as a college basketball player suggests that she also had firsthand exposure to the commitment involved in competitive sports.
However, it is important not to overstate what this information proves. A parent’s athletic background does not, by itself, establish exactly how a child was trained or which family member influenced a particular career decision. The available reporting confirms Shareese’s basketball history, but it does not provide a complete account of her role in every stage of Keion’s development.
Shareese Williams and the family’s sporting background
Basketball and football are different sports, but both demand discipline, practice and the ability to perform under pressure. Shareese’s reported college basketball experience is therefore a relevant part of Keion’s family background.
It also adds context to the athletic environment surrounding him as he developed his own interests. Still, Keion’s career reflects his own work and decisions, including the transition between football positions and the move from one college program to another.
The publicly available sources do not offer enough detail to reconstruct the family’s daily routines or assign specific contributions to individual relatives. A trustworthy profile should recognize the documented background without filling the gaps with assumptions.
Who Are Keion White’s Siblings?
Keion White has siblings, but detailed information about them is limited in authoritative public sources.
The 2023 New England Patriots media guide lists White as one of three siblings in his family, indicating that he has one brother and one sister. That official team publication is a stronger source for this detail than unsourced celebrity-biography pages that circulate online.
The names, ages and occupations of his siblings are not consistently documented in the reliable sources reviewed for this article. For that reason, their identities should not be presented as confirmed unless supported by a credible source or direct public statement.
Does Keion White have a brother and a sister?
Yes. The 2023 Patriots media guide describes him as having one brother and one sister. It does not provide a full public profile of either sibling.
Some online biographies give different descriptions of the number of siblings, but those accounts are not equally well supported. When sources disagree, the most responsible approach is to rely on the official draft guide and clearly identify the limits of the information.
Why is there limited information about his siblings?
Not every relative of a professional athlete chooses to live publicly. Unless family members participate in interviews or public events, their personal details may remain largely private.
Keion’s football career is documented extensively through team profiles, statistics and game coverage. His siblings, by contrast, are not professional athletes whose day-to-day activities are routinely covered by sports media.
That distinction matters: limited information does not mean there is anything unusual about the family. It simply means there is not enough reliable public evidence to publish a detailed biography of each sibling.
Keion White’s Grandparents and Extended Family
Keion’s grandparents also appeared in the ABC11 report about the 2023 NFL Draft. The gathering took place in a subdivision where his grandparents lived, making the event a family-centered celebration in the area where he grew up.
His grandmother, Diane Zeigler, spoke about the family’s long-standing support for his football development. She told ABC11 that relatives had attended his practices from a young age and had continued watching his games through high school and college.
Her comments help establish a timeline for the family’s involvement. Keion did not arrive at the professional level overnight; people close to him had followed his progress through multiple stages of his athletic life.
The report also quoted his grandfather, Ike Zeigler, describing the moment as surreal. Their reactions illustrated how meaningful the draft was to relatives who had seen his development over time.

The ABC11 coverage is particularly useful because it includes comments from family members at the time of the event, rather than relying only on later summaries of Keion’s background.
Keion White’s Childhood in Garner, North Carolina
Keion White was born in North Carolina and grew up in the Garner area. His early football experience included youth football before he became a standout at Garner High School, also referred to in sports records as Garner Magnet High School.
According to ABC11’s 2023 report, White played youth football in the Knightdale Football Association from approximately ages six through 12. The report also described his early athletic versatility, noting that he had played other positions before becoming a defensive lineman.
At Garner High School, White played both tight end and defensive end. He was not initially known only for the defensive role that would later become his professional position.
The Patriots’ draft profile described him as an athlete who transitioned from tight end to defensive end during his college career. His path demonstrates that a player’s eventual professional role may develop over time rather than follow a straight line from childhood.
From high school to Old Dominion University
White received a scholarship offer from Old Dominion University, according to ABC11’s coverage of his draft journey. He played college football there before transferring to Georgia Tech.
His time at Old Dominion helped establish his credentials as a defensive player. The Patriots’ official profile records a strong 2019 season, when he finished with 62 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
The figures are significant because they show how his role evolved. After beginning college as a tight end, White developed into a defensive end capable of disrupting opposing offenses.
The move to Georgia Tech
White transferred to Georgia Tech after his time at Old Dominion. His development continued in the Atlantic Coast Conference, where he played against higher-profile college opponents.
His 2021 season was affected by a serious ankle injury, according to the Patriots’ 2023 profile. He then produced a stronger campaign in 2022, finishing with 54 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks.
Those performances helped strengthen his NFL prospects. They also explain why the 2023 draft was such an important milestone for him and his family.
Keion White’s NFL Career and Current Team
49ers.com
Keion White entered the NFL when the New England Patriots selected him in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 46th overall. The selection followed his college career at Old Dominion and Georgia Tech.
The Patriots described White as a player with unusual size, speed and versatility for his position. Their draft analysis also highlighted his ability to move between defensive-line roles, an asset in schemes that require players to handle different assignments.
White later joined the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers’ official roster page identifies him as a defensive lineman and provides his career information.
His professional career is the main reason interest in his background continues. Fans often want to know where a player grew up, which people supported him and how he developed the skills required to compete at the highest level.
Still, his family’s story should not be reduced to a claim that success was guaranteed by his upbringing. His parents and extended family were part of his support network, while his own performance, training, adaptability and decisions played central roles in his career.

Why Keion White’s Family Background Matters
Learning about an athlete’s family can help fans understand the environment in which a career developed. In Keion White’s case, the public record shows a father who celebrated his progress, a mother with a college-sports background, and grandparents who followed his athletic development over many years.
The 2023 draft-watch gathering is especially revealing because it documented the family’s response at a significant moment in his career. It showed that his NFL selection was celebrated not only as a professional achievement but also as a milestone for people who had watched him grow as an athlete.
His mother’s basketball background adds another useful detail to that story, while his own journey through two college programs illustrates the changes and challenges that can shape a football career.
